What you’ll never pay for

Pricing follows the people who write your docs, not the people who read them.

Readers

Visitors to your published site never need an account and never count toward your plan.

Traffic

No page-view tiers and no bandwidth overages, however popular your docs get.

Leaving

Every page is available as Markdown, and llms-full.txt exports a whole site. Your content is never locked in.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Docsheaf cost?

Docsheaf is free for one site and a small team. Paid plans are priced per docs site plus per member, and Enterprise is priced to fit your organization.

Do I pay for people who read my docs?

No. Readers of your published site never need an account and are never billed. Only members of your organization count toward your plan.

Who counts as a member?

Anyone you invite to your organization, whatever their role — viewer, commenter, reviewer, editor, creator or admin.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. You sign up with your email address and start on the Free plan; there is no payment step.

How do I upgrade to a paid plan?

An admin opens Billing in the organization’s settings and picks Pro or Business. Your content stays exactly where it is, and new features switch on as soon as the payment goes through.

Who handles payments and taxes?

Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes the payment, adds the right sales tax or VAT for your country and sends the invoices; it appears on your statement.

What happens when we add sites or members?

The subscription follows your usage: added or removed sites and members are prorated onto your next invoice, so nothing is charged on the spot.

Can I self-host Docsheaf?

Yes. Docsheaf runs on Node.js with PostgreSQL and either local disk or S3-compatible storage such as AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2. Enterprise plans include help running it in your own cloud.

Do you charge for traffic or page views?

No. Pricing is based on sites and members, never on how many people read your docs.

Are AI features included?

Every plan publishes llms.txt, llms-full.txt and a Markdown version of each page. Pro and above add the AI Assistant, with a monthly allowance of answers included in the plan. Docsheaf Agent and the MCP server are on the roadmap and marked “Coming soon”. There are no AI credits to buy.

Do you offer discounts for open source, nonprofits or education?

Open-source projects are welcome on the Free plan. For nonprofits, education and early-stage startups, get in touch and tell us about your project.
