Refund policy

Docsheaf is free to start, and the Free plan is never charged. This page explains how paid plans are billed, how to cancel, and when you can get money back. It is part of our terms of service.
Who charges you
Paid plans are sold through Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes the payment, adds the sales tax or VAT that applies where you are, and sends the invoices. Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase, and its name appears on your card statement.
How subscriptions renew
- Plans renew automatically each month or each year, depending on the billing period you chose, until you cancel.
- Paid plans are priced per docs site and per member. When you add or remove sites or members, the difference is prorated onto your next invoice — nothing is charged on the spot.
- When you switch plans or billing periods, the difference is charged or credited right away, prorated for the rest of the period.
Cancelling
An organization admin can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing → Manage billing. The subscription then ends at the end of the period you’ve paid for: you keep the paid features until then and aren’t charged again. Afterwards the organization moves to the Free plan; your content stays where it is.
Deleting an organization cancels its subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period, because there is nothing left to use.
Refunds
- First payment: if a paid plan isn’t right for you, ask within 14 days of your first payment for that plan and we’ll refund it in full.
- Mistakes: if you were charged in error — for example twice for the same period — we refund the extra charge.
- Otherwise: payments for a period that has started aren’t refunded, including when you cancel or remove sites or members partway through, unless the law where you live requires it.
To ask for a refund, email [email protected] from an admin’s address with the organization’s name. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Paddle, usually within 5–10 business days.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we and Paddle will ask you to update your payment method. The organization keeps its paid plan for 7 days; after that it moves to the Free plan until the payment goes through. Nothing is deleted.
